• Some may have read the short blurb in some local papers about Donny accepting the role of Jekyl & Hyde in London. We have checked with Donny's sources and have been informed that this is not true at this time. Donny is very busy right now touring with "This is the Moment" and does not have the time to commit to such a project.

 
• Some of you may not have read Donny's Testimony on his Beliefs pages. This is something that is near and dear to his heart, and in fact is sacred to him. He has chosen to share it with his friends who read the Beliefs pages, so that they may also come to know how important his faith is to him, and how it has helped him through the years. Please read this special page today. We also hope you can learn from all of the questions that Donny has chosen to answer through the years.

  Also, it seems there has been a slight misunderstanding that we would like to clear up about the answers Donny 'sends' to LDS questions. • Donny news - Europe

  From 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10th, Donny's ALBUM SIGNING will take place at the Virgin Megastore, 14, Oxford Street, London, England, W.1. The nearest underground station is Tottenham Court Road on the Northern and Central Lines.

  There'll be signs in the store to the location of the event. Photography will be permitted. There is no store policy with regard to bringing other items for Donny to sign, in addition to his new album. This will be at the discretion of the staff supervising the queue and will be influenced by the number of people who attend. The length of time which Donny will stay will be influenced by the number of people, too.

  Please come and support Donny at this event, if you possibly can!

• It has been reported that Marie Osmond will be a substitute host on the Rosie O'Donnell Show as Rosie recupurates from her recent surgery. Check out the line-up this week, and note that she will be hosting on Friday, April 13, 2001. Be sure to check your local listings for times.

Our volunteers are busy putting these squares together to make warm blankets for the homeless. • The tentative air date for 'SEVENTIES MANIA' on ITV featuring Donny (in Europe) has been changed to Saturday, the 14th. of April, but this could change again.
  Donny is doing very well while in Europe. He was given a great reception at one of the show tapings, not only by his fans but also by the rest of the audience. Almost all of the fans who turned up without tickets were able to obtain them outside the studio. Donny performed his new version of 'The Twelfth Of Never' from the bonus CD. He made such a good impression as the host of the show that the producers want him to work for them again.

  Six of Donny's fans were invited to appear briefly on the show with some of their photos and memorabilia. Special thanks to Denise Mokhlissi, Fay Ostler, Jackie Casey, Nicky Wardale, Jenny Leijten and Linda Harris for agreeing to do this.

  Donny pre-recorded the voice-overs for the video footage in the show on Saturday, following his arrival from the States.

• There have been many questions regarding 2nd G member, David, and his future plans. Currently he is studying at New York University and will continue to do so at this time.   Donny Osmond, along with Merrill, Wayne, Alan and Jay formed the infamous 70s family singing group, The Osmonds.

  David Bauder of The Associated Press announced that Donny & Marie Osmond have been nominated for best talk show host for the Daytime Emmy Awards along with Regis Philbin, Rosie O'Donnell, and ``The View'' crew of Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, Joy Behar and Lisa Ling. The awards will be given out by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on May 18 in a ceremony at Radio City Music Hall televised by NBC.

• We just received some unfortunate news about the cancellation of the Second Generation's pending tour of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown."

• We've always received many questions about Alan's well-being and current activities. He keeps quite busy with OneHeart and is currently working an his own version of the Osmonds biography. But he needs your input and participation!

  Alan is currently working on writing an online book regarding the life of the Osmonds and is asking for people to write to ask their questions or make comments regarding the Osmonds that should be covered in the topics of the book.  Write to Alan at alansbook@osmond.net. You can ask questions about the latest movie, as it has sparked some definite discussion in letters and forums, or about life on the road, life in the 70's, being a performer.....or whatever you would like answered!

  The book is currently only in the working stages so we do not have any specifics about release dates, URL addresses or publishers. As soon as we get confirmed information it will be announced on Osmond.com.

  But in the meantime, you can definitely have some input on the creation of the final copy so write to Alan today!

• Many have asked about dates and times of the broadcasting of Donny's "This is the Moment" Special on PBS. There has been some information with dates and times provided on donny.com. If your city is not represented you may need to conduct a search of your local PBS station or email your local channel for details.

 
• Lastly, we have also received inquiries about the possibility of a "This is the Moment" video.  Universal has confirmed that the video is simply at a discussion level and will definitely not be a possibility until at least summer, if at all.  If it will become a reality we will be notified of its pending release. Thanks for your interest.

• Wasn't Donny WONDERFUL on Home Shopping Network last night!

  He performed 4 songs live on the show including "Seasons of Love," "This is the Moment, "Immortality," and "It's Possible."  Donny talked about many moments included in his upcoming PBS special due out in March, specifically about how he enjoyed looking backward and performing "Puppy Love" with a full orchestra singing along with Vanessa Williams.

  He also talked about how he was so excited and honored to have been given Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest musical piece, "Our Kind of Love" because Donny simply asked him for a new song to include on the recording.

  Donny also talked about good friend, Rosie, who announced to television land that she was recording a duet with Donny, even before he knew it! He had to laugh about the manner with which she recorded their duet, "You've Got a Friend in Me" when she ad-libbed the ending about her adoration for Donny as a teen as she had all his posters on her walls! Donny called it a 'wrap' and left it that way on the CD.

• Julie Segroatt, our European correspondent has confirmed that on Tuesday, February 27, 2001, Donny can be seen on the annual Brit Awards, to be broadcast on the ITV channel in Britain.  This awards ceremony honours the best in the rock and pop industry and is the British equivalent of the Grammys.  Donny is scheduled to present one of the awards.  So mark your calendars to remember to tune in!

  The movie "that was almost therapy" for the Osmonds will focus on their life behind the scenes.  The ABC movie "Inside the Osmonds," will air Monday at 8 p.m. EST.  The made for T.V. movie shows the trials the Osmond family endured while working in show business.  It highlights their challenge of keeping their LDS values while in a profession that sometimes begs for compromise.

  "It really shows what happened.  Some of it was hard to swallow," said Jimmy Osmond, one of six executive producers.

• YAHOO!  TO HOST LISTENING PARTY AND CHAT WITH DONNY OSMOND FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

  In tandem with the February 6, 2001, release of his new recording, Yahoo! will host a listening party and chat featuring Donny Osmond.  From 12:01AM-11:59PM Eastern Time on February 6, Donny's latest release, 'This is the Moment,' will be available for streaming on Yahoo!'s music channel.

  Donny will also participate in a Yahoo! chat from 8-9PM Eastern Time on the same day.

  Donny Osmond has devoted his career to entertaining audiences all over the world.  Over the past 30 years, this multi-talented performer has charmed us as a little boy, captivated us as a teenager and won our respect as an adult.  In the 1970's he was one of the most successful pop artists and stars earning 18 gold records and several top 10 hits.

  Thirteen years later, he re-emerged back on the scene with a number two hit, "Soldier of Love."  Soon after, Donny performed the lead role in the critically acclaimed Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.'

  Featuring duets with Vanessa Williams and Rosie O'Donnell, 'This is the Moment' is a contemporary collection of songs from current and classic Broadway hits including Jekyll & Hyde, Aida, Rent, and Seussical.  Also featured on the CD is a previously unrecorded Andrew Lloyd Webber song, "Our Kind of Love" from his new musical, 'The Beautiful Game.'

• Marie will be among the stars scheduled to emcee the inaugural balls on the evening of Saturday, January 20th.  Marie drew the ball for Arkansas, American Samoa, Connecticut, Georgia, Guam, Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, West Virginia and Wisconsin.  The Jerry Barnett Orchestra will perform.

 
• The Seniors Pages have been updated with 10 new articles from Norley Hall.

 
• We have new activities for Family Night , sent to us by visitors to The Family.com site.  Please come by and check them out.

 
• If you have not made a blanket for Warming Families yet, or if you have and want to make another one, this is the time to do it!

  We are currently having a Valentines Day drive and our goal is to collect 100 new blankets for the homeless shelters, before February 14, 2001!!   With your help ~ WE CAN DO THIS!!!

  TheFamily.com and OneHeart.org share a mission, which is to strengthen families, and helping 'Warming Families', is a wonderful project for you and your children.  Tied quilts are easy to do, and what a special time you will have together making something warm for a family who is having a hard time of it right now.

  If you are absolutely not into making blankets, that's ok.  Talk to your children about choosing a NEW blanket, with nice bright colors, to purchase and then send to an Area Volunteer to deliver to a shelter in your state.  Let them pick it out and maybe help purchase with their own money if they are old enough.  You can also do with with your grandchildren - it makes a lovely grandparent/grandchild project!   It is so important to teach our young ones the value of sacrifice and reaching out to help others.

  "Families with children constitute approximately 40% of people who become homeless." (Shinn and Weitzman, 1996)

  If you need an easy pattern feel free to use this one!  It includes full instructions so you can work with your family to make a warm tied quilt for someone in need.  We need crib sized toddler sized (to wrap around them) and twin bed sized.  The Crib/Toddler sized is located here.

• This from ABC-TV...The movie about the Osmond family, "Inside The Osmonds"will now be airing Monday, February 5, 8-10 PM.  Originally, we were told it was toair the 4th, so make sure you make a note of this change!

 
• In addition, Jimmy Osmond has done several syndicated interviews which will be popping up all over the media soon...so keep your eyes open! Jimmy, Veronica Cartwright (Olive Osmond), and Bruce McGill (George Osmond) have all done interviews with AP, so that will be dispersed throughout media soon as well.  You'll also see coverage on the movie appearing on programs such as: ET, Access Hollywood, and E. As soon as we have any air dates, we'll post the information here and on the movie site.

 
• US Weekly will be running a Q&A with Jimmy about the movie in their review section, which will run in the February 3 issue, or possibly just prior. And...don't forget the spread People Magazine will be doing on the Osmonds, and the movie, in their February issue.

• Another new page has gone online regarding the movie, "Inside The Osmonds!"   This page has photos of scenes from the movie! In addition, there is a little news bit on the " Movie Updates " page.

 
• David Osmond was scheduled to continue his Music and Business majors at BYU college this Spring semester.   However, he got an invite from the President of New York University to continue his education there with some well known professors in music and voice.  He also received an invitation to join their production of "Guys and Dolls" which he is doing and "dancing a lot", says David.  David in now in rehearsals in New York and the production will be sometime in February.  He and his Brothers and Beka are still scheduled to star in "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" with rehearsals starting in early August.

 
• On Wednesday, January 17th, Michael, Nate, Doug, and Jon are scheduled to sing the National Anthem at the Utah Grizzlies hockey game.

January 7, 2001

• Two new pages have been added to the "Inside The Osmonds" movie site.  The first page has comments from Osmond family members expressing their feelings about the movie and the actors portraying them.

  There is also a continuation of the photo gallery with comparison photos of the actors and actual Osmonds.  The new page includes a great group shot, as well as photos of Wayne, Jay, Donny, Donny & Marie, Marie, and Jimmy.

  An upcoming page to the movie site will involve comments from the actors themselves...discussing how they feel about the role they are playing, how they prepare for their role, etc.

  A little less than a month, and "Inside The Osmonds" will air!!!
